Poetry lights my way. It is the bridge to my soul, a way into that place inside my heart that needs a soft ear to listen and to hold it. Poems are lanterns and houses of light. They keep me warm and safe and able to move forward with love in my heart. It is through poetry that I have found my tender voice again and given it a safe place to go where it can speak openly, sing beautifully, cry, rage and surrender to all that is true and honest within me.

My soul always knows what it needs and what it needs is love. Poetry is love made manifest into physical form on a page. It is light I can hold with my hands and use to know I have healed and grown softer inside myself. It is my prayer.
